It all began with a facebook post, an elementary school carnival and a picture of a cow. I had commented that I had survived the school carnival and eaten my quota of junk food such as hot dog, cotton candy, etc. The next morning I noticed my friends' profile pic of a cow. Em thought it was funny so I replied that we liked the cow and that she was entertained by his photos (which change daily). His response was to look closer...Bessie was giving me the evil eye for my junk food splurge the night before.
Having struggled with my weight for some time now and knowing where I was a mere 4 years ago and where I'd like to be once again, it became sort of a joke and inspiration at the same time with "Bessie" watching what I ate.
However, it wasn't until a week later that it took a serious turn! After sending our daughter off on her vacation with my parents, we had date night at a favorite restaurant and I posted that night that even though I'd had a mocha latte after dinner I couldn't stay awake. The next morning I logged on to the computer and was greeted with the info that I had consumed my daily allotment of calories in that one coffee drink and at bedtime, no less. YIKES! So there I sat that Friday morning...alone in the house...missing my little girl, feeling bad about my dietary choices, and feeling down on myself that I would NEVER be able to get back to my goal weight.
After a good cry and a hot shower, I pulled it together in time for "the right phone call from the right person at just the right time!" He informed me that if he lived closer by he'd come pour a mocha latte over my head. Great, that makes me feel better! But it did. Because then he went on to inspire me into believing that I could do something about my eating habits and my weight. And better yet, he'd be my coach and help! I accepted the challenge and made the choice to become a new me!
